A Typical Day

Though structure prevails in each class, there is ample opportunity for self-expression and free-play times. Classes are taught by teachers who hold four-year degrees and are State certified. Each activity lasts approximately 20 minutes to 1/2 hour.

Our Daily Schedule

Circle Time

Calendar activities will be discussed (month, day, year) along with weather and seasons. Encourages children to talk about "news." Children will also learn Spanish & Sign Language.

Arts/Crafts

All activities geared to development of Fine Motor Skills through use of scissors, glue, paste, and many other craft and holiday projects.

Snack

Consists of juice or milk and wholesome snacks. Cooking projects are done. Encourages the use of good manners.

Reading

Alpha Time Program is used. It is a phonetically based, hands-on program involving Letter People, stories, and songs. Children are grouped according to levels of ability.

Outside Time

Free play and structured phys-ed activities are done. Develops balance, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness. Once indoors, children go immediately to bathrooms to wash faces and hands.

Math

Colors, shapes, and number recognition will all be done according to children's levels of ability as outlined for each class.

Science

Children will learn basic science and conduct experiments. Develops awareness and logical thinking skills.

Free Play

Allows children to be creative and utilize socialization skills.

Library Time

Teacher reads story and involves children in discussions to develop comprehension, imagination, and verbal skills.

Group Time

Closing group time to review and reinforce day's activities.
